No one ever changed the world with a bottle of Jack Daniels and an inability to say 'no thanks, I've had enough'. Released by Geffen Records in part because of the delay in the making of Chinese Democracy, the album was subject to lawsuits by band member Axl Rose and former band members, in an attempt to block its release due to its track listing. Listening to the sun-drenched chords of "Paradise City" and the ensuing stadium-sized swagger is enough to make wearing leather trousers and bandanas seem like a good idea. The band is in full support of the vinyl reissue and have asked us to rework the artwork for a new feel with different colours and new photos. As Axl Rose wails "I wanna watch you bleed" on "Welcome to the Jungle", like a chain-smoking lunatic possessed, it's hard not to believe he meant it.

Despite the album having almost no promotion it reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and number three on the Billboard 200 chart upon it's release. Good quality product and sound with a good mixture of tracks what more can I say I just want a hat like Slash. The vinyl is flawless and sounds amazing no pops or crackles it sounds so much better than the cd version. And while the covers of the The Spaghetti Incident were largely forgettable, the fact that their final single was a seedy sneer through the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil" seems spectacularly fitting.
