If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

the overall sound of the guitar when not buzzing is more than acceptable, if this guitar was manufactured to a decent finish including set up, it would be fine. A beginner wouldn’t be able to tell that the sound is weak and low, but someone with experience playing a more expensive classical guitar would. The overall construction of this guitar is good for what is considered a beginner guitar. While it is made for beginners, it is a strong guitar that can last the usual wear and tear a guitar takes over several years. Also, if you record music at home, adding a nylon string guitar to your musical armoury is always useful: it’s another texture sound and even inspiration for your compositions. This model will give you that without breaking the bank. As an investment, it’s easy to justify! If someone is looking for a richer, stronger classical guitar sound then spending a little more money is recommended. You won’t have to spend too much more to buy a guitar that has a more distinct sound. Playability is even more important than sound quality because it will take a beginner at least a year to learn how to exploit a higher-end guitar’s tone. The Yamaha C40 Classical Guitar is a beautifully crafted instrument that offers an exceptional playing experience for both beginners and seasoned musicians. With its traditional classical body type and top-quality materials, this guitar delivers a rich and resonant sound that is synonymous with Yamaha's renowned craftsmanship.

The action on the C40 is about 4mm at the 12th fret. I find this a little high although it is around average for many classical guitars. The C40 is still playable, but a higher action makes pressing the strings down harder on the fingers. This can discourage beginners. As for color, it was listed as Natural, but we found it to have a light vintage tint in reality. Despite not actually having a natural finish, we quite liked the finish. The Yamaha C40 has a traditional classical guitar sound that’s great for the beginner or casual intermediate player. It is not quite as loud as other classical guitars because of the laminate wood and it isn’t as rich sounding as other guitars.

Disadvantages

C40s have a low-midrange sound, not much definition on high frets on the nylon strings, as expected. Most of the other parts of the guitar are pretty standard for a cheaper classical guitar and it doesn’t take much work to get it ready for playing when you first buy it because it already has the strings on it when you take it out of the box. Because it is a lower quality guitar, it does struggle to stay in tune so you’ll definitely have to do that before playing it for the first time, and often after that. Don’t let the price tag fool you: this is perfect for serious classical students as well as those dipping their toes into the pool of nylon string guitars. The craftsmanship is high for any affordable guitar, and is pretty spectacular for this price! Yamaha don’t know how to make bad gear, and this entry-level guitar is ample proof. I highly recommend this guitar to any first-time beginner who is looking to learn classical guitar. Even though this is a name-brand guitar, it’s very affordable and is a lot better quality than any guitar you can find online that doesn’t have a brand name attached. The beginner’s classical guitar: it is a time-honoured tradition indeed. The nylon string classical guitar is the first port of call for a great many budding guitarists: a trusty companion as they embark on a life-long lifestyle upgrade. Why classical? Well, nylon strings are more forgiving on the fingers, and make a pleasant, expressive sound, even in the early throes of learning. It doesn’t require too much effort to make them sound nice, and that’s half the battle in those early months or learning.

A beginner’s guitar should be the right size and easy to play. If the guitar is too hard to play, a beginner is more likely to give up. The C40’s dimensions are similar to other nylon string guitars in the beginner price range, with a standard 650 mm (25 9/16″) scale length. Younger or smaller players may prefer the 7/8, 3/4 or 1/2 size models, which are readily available. A relatively high action The C40 is the guitar that thousands of students around the world have learned to play on over many years. It’s hard to argue with its success. Yamaha C40 technical specificationsTruss rods are becoming more common in other beginner nylon string models. They provide more strength against the effects of heat and humidity and allows the action to be slightly adjusted.
